Just a brief update. I started a new blog (here) for a class I’m in, which will be focused on aggregating links and media of how Portland is portrayed in the media. Sounds interesting? Give it a look.

Creativity can strike you in any place, however there are a few cities that scream creativity to me. These are the cities that I would want to work in someday:
#1: Portland, OR
What can I say? I love Portland. Besides the simple fact of growing up in just a little south in Lake Oswego, Portland is weird and a great, creative place to be in. With a lively music scene, beautiful scenery and parks, as well as fun individuals, Portland juices with creativity. (Wieden+Kennedy being located here is another great plus.)
#2: San Francisco, CA
Bodily organs sometimes get left here, and I’m willing to bet some creativity along with them. (You can’t have any creativity with any heart, right?) Whatever the case, agencies like Goodby, Silverstein & Partners have been able to soak up the creative atmosphere San Fran offers and create something great. Like Portland, SF has great music, friendly people, and a culture that is unique.
#3: New York, NY
Can’t say that I love the hustle and bustle that is New York, but there are a lot of great agencies here. I once took a trip to New York in the summer awhile back and it was hot and crowded. Maybe the heat and rude people add to the creative flow of these agencies. It may take a little getting used to, but New York seems like a great place to be if you want to be in the know with what’s going on in the ad world.
