5 minutes a day: #1
January 22, 2014 § 1 Comment
It’s such a minute amount of time, which is why I can commit to writing for at least 5 minutes every day from now until I can’t write any more or I can’t find anyone to take dictation from me. I don’t imagine these are going to be the epitome of writing or the most grammatically correct, but I will post them here because then I’ll be obligated to keep it up.
Here is today’s:
John leaned back and stared up at the sky. He drew the constellations with his fingers. Rustling grass told him that Mary was coming to wish him a good night. She hopped onto his lap.
“Hey sweetheart.” He kissed her forehead.
“What’re you doing dad?”
“Do you know where the North Star is?”
Mary looked up and scanned overhead. “That one?”
John followed her pointed finger. “No, that one has actually been gone for thousands of years.”
“But it’s right there.”
“That star is millions of miles away and it takes a long time for its light to reach us.”
“Are you going there?”
John paused. “No, not there. But somewhere far away.”
